Connecticut College Soccer Camps

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) announced its 2023 Division III All-New England Team, placing three members of the Connecticut College women's soccer team on the list. Graduate student forward Mya Johnson (Old Lyme, Conn.), senior defender Kristyn Moran (Hingham, Mass.), and junior midfield Clare Mulvihill (West Caldwell, N.J.) all earned spots on the third team.

Johnson earns the honor in her final season as a Camel. The 5th-year led the Camels in scoring this season, tallying 15 points on six goals and three assists, with one game-winning goal, while appearing in 15 games and making 13 starts.

Johnson concludes her stellar career with the Camels, recording 80 career points on 33 goals and 14 assists. Johnson's 80 points and 33 goals rank second in program history.

"Mya's ability to score a goal from seemingly nothing makes her a standout player at Division III," said head coach Norman Riker  "She graduates as the program's 2nd all time leader goal scorer and this recognition is a nice honor to a wonderful career."

Moran finishes up her career in the blue and white, finishing the season with six points on one goal and four assists. The senior anchored the back line during her four season, appearing in 48 games, making 43 starts, accumulating 10 points on one goal and eight assists.

Riker added, "Kristyn has been a defensive stalwart in our back line since 2021.  She was our team leader and directed our set pieces and restarts.  We are thrilled to see her recognized by NEWISA."

In her third season in New London Mulvihill became a leader in the midfield, starting every game this season, while finishing third on the team in scoring. Mulvihill recorded nine points on four goals and one assist, to finish tied for second in goals. 

"Clare has been a mainstay in the midfield since her first year.  Her presence, mobility, and ability to strike a ball and win aerial duels is a massive advantage she brings to our team," concluded Riker.

Conn College finished the season with an overall record of 9-6-1 (4-5-1 NESCAC). The Camels finished sixth in the NESCAC to make their fourth consecutive conference tournament appearance, falling to Bowdoin 1-0 in the quarterfinals.
