KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With 2023 winding down, Connecticut College men's soccer senior Matt Scoffone (Thornton, Pa.), continued to earn recognition, being named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Scholar All-American second team as announced by the organization.

Scoffone adds the Second Team Scholar All-American to a growing list of accomplishments from this past season. Previously, Scoffone earned First Team All-NESCAC, First Team USC All-Region, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, and USC Third Team All-American.

The senior appeared in every game, while making 19 starts on the year. Scoffone tallied 20 points on a team-high nine goals and two assists, while picking up a team-best three game-winning goals. In the classroom, Scoffone has a cumulative GPA of 3.85, while majoring in Economics.

"We are so happy for Matt and this is another deserving award for him," said head coach Reuben Bruke. "Since his time at Conn started, he has been exemplary in the classroom and also on the field. He's really been a great role model to our younger guys on what a student athlete should look like."

For his career, Scoffone has recorded 35 points on 15 goals and five assists, and will return to Conn next fall for his final season of eligibility.

Connecticut College concluded the season with a 12-2-7 overall record, including a 5-0-5 mark in NESCAC play.  Additionally, the Camels made their third-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight, after capturing the programs first-ever unbeaten regular season.
