KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Connecticut College men's soccer senior forward Matt Scoffone (Thornton, Pa.) continued to bring in recognition after being named a United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team selection, as announced by the organization.
Scoffone earned his first All-America honors after leading the Camels in scoring. The senior appeared in every game, while making 19 starts on the year. Scoffone tallied 20 points on a team-high nine goals and two assists, while picking up a team-best three game-winning goals.
For his career, Scoffone has recorded 35 points on 15 goals and five assists, and will return to Conn next fall for his final season of eligibility.
"Matt had a really productive year for us, scoring and assisting consistently at vital times," said head coach Reuben Burke. "He was a threat in every game. He's also put in a tremendous amount of work over the last four years to earn this; he's a relentless competitor, always trying to get better, so we are really happy for Matt."
Connecticut College concluded the season with a 12-2-7 overall record, including a 5-0-5 mark in NESCAC play. Additionally, the Camels made their third-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight, after capturing the programs first-ever unbeaten regular season.
