HADLEY, Mass. – Senior Mya Johnson (Old Lyme, Conn.) and first year Alexa Weiner (Fairfield, Conn.) have been named to the All-NESCAC Women's Soccer teams, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Johnson landed on the first team while Weiner received second team honors.

Johnson is being recognized with first team accolades for the second time in her career after receiving the honor in 2021. The senior led the Camels in goals and assists, tallying six and four respectively. Johnson currently has the third-most goals in program history with one more year of eligibility remaining.

Head coach Norm Riker praised Johnson's impact on the pitch despite reduced playing time due to an injury sustained last season.

"Mya's selection to the NESCAC first team is a testament to her talent and her impact on the game both for us and our opponents," Riker said.  "As many across the league became aware, Mya's minutes were considerably reduced as she and the team managed her injury throughout the season. Regardless, this didn't stop her flare for the extraordinary and always kept our opponents nervous about what was to come."

Weiner earned a spot on the All-NESCAC team after an outstanding first year. Weiner was a stalwart on the defensive end and a leader for the Camels' back line. Riker pointed to Weiner's maturity as a reason for her success.

"Alexa's seamless transition to the NESCAC is noteworthy as this award and her minutes logged are both rare accomplishments for a first year player," Riker said. "She plays with an awareness and composure that brings a calmness to the pitch and when in possession, she instills confidence in her teammates, as her head is always up and she can connect a pass from with both feet."

Both Johnson and Weiner are set to return to the Camels next season.
