WOMEN’S SOCCER STANDOUT SARA KOGELMANN EARNS COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA LAURELS FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

AUSTIN, Texas – Connecticut College's Sara Kogelmann (Guilderland, N.Y.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America Division III Women's Soccer Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon. The defender and economics major was chosen to the second team.

Kogelmann, who is also double minoring in mathematics and finance, helped anchor a back line which yielded one goal or less 10 times in 16 matches and blanked five opponents. She is also involved with the Peggotty Investment Club, Women in Finance Club, and the Women in STEM Club on campus. In addition, the defender tutors students in economics.

Furthermore, Kogelmann became just the third student-athlete in school history for any sport to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American multiple times. Kate Kovenock '05, a former women's swimmer, earned the award in 2004 and 2005, and distance standout Michael LeDuc '14 was a three-time recipient between 2012 and 2014.
